GSI Selected to Update TWDB Groundwater Availability Model

GSI Ann Smith 12A4217 smallJulie142Sorab142GSI, together with teaming partners Environmental Simulations Inc., Montgomery & Associates, and Bill Hutchison, were selected by the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) to update the Groundwater Availability Model (GAM) for the northern portion of the Queen City, Sparta, and Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifers.  The existing GAM will be updated by the GSI team to the latest MODFLOW numerical codes and will incorporate new hydrogeologic information collected by stakeholders in the study area.  The project follows GSI’s recent TWDB award to execute the Lower Rio Grande Valley Groundwater Transport Model as part of the GAM program.  The GSI project team includes Dr. Sorab Panday (National Ground Water Association’s winner of the 2015 M. King Hubbert Award) as the Principal Investigator and Technical Lead, Julie Spencer as the Administrative Lead, and Ann Smith as the Project Principal.
