Senior-level Environmental Engineer/Scientist/Hydrogeologist
GSI has two immediate openings in its Houston, Texas office for senior-level environmental engineers/scientists. Required qualifications include advanced degrees in geosciences or engineering with at least 10 years of work experience, with heavy emphasis on environmental consulting for private sector clients. In addition, this candidate will have training and experience with groundwater contamination, contaminant fate and transport, and site investigation/remediation. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must. Graphic Design Specialist
GSI’s Houston office is seeking a full-time Graphic Design Specialist. Candidate will be responsible for working with our technical personnel to create, modify, and update graphics for use in technical reports, PowerPoint presentations, and marketing brochures. The qualified candidate must have advanced skills in PowerPoint, Photoshop, ArcView, InDesign, and Illustrator. In addition, the candidate should have working knowledge or experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering/architectural software and ArcGIS.

Senior Level Engineer/Hydrogeologist - Oakland, CA; Newport Beach, CA; or Herndon, VA
GSI has an immediate opening it for a senior-level civil or environmental engineer/hydrogeologist in its Oakland, CA; Newport Beach, CA, or Herndon, VA offices. Required qualifications include:

  • Advanced degrees in geosciences or engineering with at least 7-10 years of work experience with environmental and/or groundwater resources-related projects;
  • Direct experience with compiling and interpreting field data, constructing conceptual and numerical models, data visualization, and preparing technical reports for groundwater flow and transport;
  • Practical applications of numerical models including analytical, finite difference and finite element based codes;
  • Independent research and analysis;
  • Ability to work across geographies with experts in different offices; and,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Senior Level Risk Assessor in Orange County or the Bay Area, CA
GSI has an immediate opening in our Orange County or Bay Area offices for a Senior-level Risk Assessor.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing proposals and work scopes;
  • Overseeing and performing calculations;
  • Compiling and evaluating technical data;
  • Developing site conceptual models for environmental projects;
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of human and ecological risk assessments;
  • Preparing comprehensive technical reports;Managing budgets; and
  • Communicating with clients and other staff.

Required Qualifications include:

  • 5 to 10 years of applied experience;
  • A Master’s degree or higher in toxicology, chemistry, or environmental engineering/sciences;
  • Experience with numerical analysis including applied statistics;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Board certification a plus.
