Stephen Richardson Promoted to Principal Engineer with GSI

GSI Environmental is pleased to announce the promotion of Stephen Richardson to the position of Principal Engineer. This promotion is in recognition of the significant contributions Stephen has made to strengthen and grow GSI’s core services, develop and maintain strong client relationships, recruit and mentor our staff, and expand GSI’s technical capabilities into new areas.

Stephen Richardson, Ph.D., P.E., P.Eng
Dr. Richardson’s practice areas include research and development, environmental site investigation, and engineering design. He specializes in the application of innovative strategies and technologies to treat a variety of conventional and emerging contaminants in soils and groundwater. Stephen serves as principal investigator for several DoD-sponsored research projects on cometabolic biodegradation of 1,4-dioxane, innovative approaches for treatment of chlorinated solvents in low permeability zones, and anaerobic bioremediation of DNAPL. He has authored or co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed journal articles on topics such as baseline water chemistry in areas of oil and gas development, in situ bioremediation, chemical oxidation, cosolvent flushing, decentralized water treatment, and contaminant bioavailability. Stephen earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, his M.S. degree from Louisiana State University, and his B.A.Sc. degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Louisiana, North Carolina, Texas, and Alberta, Canada.
