GSI Environmental to Present on Stormwater and Water Resources Management at 2018 Water Research Foundation Conference in Atlanta

Dr. Hsu will present a talk “Managing Stormwater through Capture and Reuse – Strategic Planning for Potential Impact of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) on Industrial Dischargers in California” at the upcoming 2018 Water Research Foundation Conference on Advancing Reuse and Integrated Water.

Key GSI team members for this research include:
  • Tim Simpson, P.E., G.E., QISP ToR;
  • Matt Lentz, BCES, CPSWQ, CPESC, QISP ToR, QSD/P ToR; and
  • Chris (Meng-Horng) Hsu, D.Env., P.E., QISP
The latest research addressing the challenges of integrated water management and reuse will be presented at the 2018 Water Research Foundation Conference (a continuation of the 20-year tradition of the former WateReuse Research Foundation) in downtown Atlanta, GA on May 6-8, 2018. The Research Conference is designed to help communities prepare for the future of water, offering a program that features creative approaches for managing water resources. The program brochure of the conference can be downloaded here:

This talk will provide analysis from continuous hydraulic simulation modeling performed to evaluate the pollutant removal efficiency associated with use of the 85th percentile, 24-hour storm event for infiltration system sizing to evaluate the feasibility of capture/reuse to meet waste load allocations for several TMDLs, as well as the overall pollutant mass reduction over time.

The objective of this presentation is to provide an overview/ evaluation of the feasibility and the benefits of potential compliance strategies, including infiltration, and the potential risks associated with these strategies.

GSI is excited to be a part of this conference!
