GSI Gino Bianchi 12A4130 small Dr. Bianchi is a Vice President and Principal Geochemist with GSI Environmental Inc., and has more than 32 years of experience directing and conducting environmental projects, with particular emphasis on international litigation/arbitration expert witness support and environmental due diligence projects in Latin America. He has directed and participated on environmental projects in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and Venezuela, as well as several areas in the Caribbean. He has also led the environmental due diligence component of numerous international merger & acquisition projects, including projects subject to the Equator Principles.

His responsibilities include identifying and quantifying environmental liabilities, interpreting the fate and transport of metals, pesticides, petroleum hydrocarbons, and chlorinated compounds in the subsurface and developing conceptual models to represent potential causes for observed contaminant distribution. Dr. Bianchi has worked for the National Research Council’s Committee on Groundwater Cleanup Alternatives, helped develop guidelines for site closure studies for San Diego County’s Hazardous Materials Management Department, and developed and participated in several applied research projects. In addition to his work‐related duties, Dr. Bianchi has served as a reviewer for U.S. EPA technical reports and professional journals and has published numerous professional papers on environmental issues, from fate and transport of contaminants to the sustainability of groundwater resources in developing nations. Dr. Bianchi is fluent in Spanish and has served as a co‐chair of the Environmental Regulations and Compliance in Latin America seminar offered by Government Institutes/ABS. He is currently a member of the Advisory Council to RIELA, the Latin American Network of Environmental Attorneys.
